Awarding Authority
As an Awarding Authority we are the experts in our field of Skills & Controls to develop, design and certify qualifications in accordance with national and international standards.
We formally recognise the quality of learning providers, learning centres and courses, as well as the knowledge and skills of our members, students and apprentices.
Engineering Registration
The Association is a Professional Affiliate of the Engineering Council and currently, has an agreement with the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) to enable suitably qualified members of the ACOSTE to achieve registration with the Engineering Council as Chartered Engineers (CEng), Incorporated Engineers (IEng), Engineering Technicians (EngTech) and Information and Communications Technology Technicians (ICTTech).
The Association’s status as an Engineering Council Professional Affiliate is renewed every 5 years.
Qualifications & Training
Approved Assessors
As the Authority for Skills & Controls all our assessors are recruited from the senior members of ACOSTE or the holders of a Certified Professional Cost Engineer (CPCostE) or similar certification. All our Assessors are also required to hold a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA), sometimes known as the TAQA (Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance).
Mentorship and Coaching
We offer the opportunity to become a mentor for our members. Also, we can match up requests for a mentor with an appropriate experienced person. As the Authority for Skills & Controls all our mentors and coaches are recruited from the senior members of ACOSTE or the holders of a Certified Professional Cost Engineer (CPCostE) or similar certification.
Approved Trainers
As the Authority for Skills & Controls all our trainers are recruited from the senior members of ACOSTE or the holders of a Certified Professional Cost Engineer (CPCostE) or similar certification. All our Trainers are also required to hold a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA), sometimes known as the TAQA and be ECITB approved.
